Day 241 - golden

It's been a good season for this butterfly bush now that it has grown

Day 220 - after

The exciting horse trough planter project has been completed!
The color of the trough was inspired by the agapanthus.
Thought it would make a good contrast with the green of the bamboo &
the reddish-brown color of the fence in the background.
[Thanks to Bob at Lotus Valley Nursery for unwavering enthusiasm & support.]

Day 218 - 42 miles

Mile Zero.
As in the end of the bike path.
We start at mile 21, so it was a 42 mile round trip.
A new personal best for both of us.
We didn't plan to go that far when we started, but it was a beautiful summer day.
And we just kept going and going and going, until we were at the end.
A really good day.

Day 217 - lotus valley nursery

The next step in the exciting horse trough planter project required another trip to Lotus Valley Nursery & Gardens. While we were there to pick up the perfect bamboo for the planter,
I spied this beautiful plant aglow in the summer sun.

Day 213- horrific discovery

Me, innocently going into the courtyard to water the potted plants.
Say, why does the potato plant look so bad? What happened?
Oh. My. God. Is that a giant tomato hornworm?
No, wait. Make that two of them.
Actually, there were five. And one decimated plant. The horror!
